David C. Newcomer was born and raised in Bryan, Ohio. He graduated from Bryan High School in 1965. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1969. Mr. Newcomer graduated from Hastings College of Law in San Francisco, California with his Juris Doctorate in May of 1972 and was admitted to the Ohio Bar in November of 1972. He began practicing law with his father, Arthur Newcomer, as an associate with the law firm of Newcomer, Shaffer, Geesey & Hutton in 1972 and was named partner in 1978.

Mr. Newcomer and his wife reside on a farm outside the Bryan City limits. He continues to be active as a director on several boards for profit companies, the Williams County Library, and the Bryan Area Foundation. Mr. Newcomer formerly has been the Chairman of the Ohio State Bar Association Specialization Committee; a member of the Ohio State Bar Association Board of Governors; the Williams County Regional Planning Commission; and Chair of the Bryan Area Foundation Grant Making Committee. 

David has extensive experience and maintains a varied practice in corporate matters, estate planning, trusts, estate administration, and real estate. He is an active proponent of the collaborative practice of law and is a member of the Center for Principled Advocacy.  

Mr. Newcomer attributes his successful practice to his highly qualified administrative staff and his experienced, energetic partners who are always available to assist in the resolution of cases.
